Oregon doesn’t stop at the beach but extends offshore ~3 nautical miles (3.45 miles).
Similar to a state park on land, Oregons “ocean parks” or Marine Reserves, are dedicated to conservation and scientific research.
Extensive studies and research surveys are done at these sites by Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and provide us with unique looks beneath the surface. The Oregon Marine Reserves Partnership utilizes a network of dedicated community team partners, individuals, and organizations to help expand the capacity of ODFW to meet each site's management, communication, and outreach goals.
